Reason to start The Challenge

This is my second challenge. During my first challenge i lost 5kg and had abs for the first time ever!

This challenge I want to build muscle and be a strong lean woman and a role model for other women. I want to show people that being a strong woman is not something to be feared and that lifting weights is for everyone.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The support from the coaches and the other challengers. There is no hate or put downs, even though it is a competition there is no negativity directed at anyone.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Being away from home the last 3 weeks and only having a very basic gym. I had to take all my final photos myself which was a very long process!

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

It has changed how I approach exercise and food. Instead of over eating and feeling I have to train off the food I now eat to fuel my training and my muscles. I want to get bigger and stronger

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Do it! You will get results if you follow the plan!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

Thank you to Janet Kane for all the support and coaching. I'm so thankful for this program and the change of mindset it has caused me to have.

My mindset has changed a fair bit this challenge. Last challenge i was very focused on the numbers on the scale. This challenge I am as of today at the same weight that i started at. However I can see the difference in the mirror and in the way i feel. From the slow start i had at the start of the challenge because of my appendix surgery i feel i have come a long way. I am definitely learning a bit more about myself and how my body works this time around. I am learning that i don't need to do endless hours of cardio in order to lose weight. I can do it by eating well and lifting heavy.

Late on commenting on week 2. Weights have improved and so has my cardio. Have a spin bike at home now so hoping to get some good HIIT sessions in. Average day was 104g Carbs, 48g Fat and 156g Protein. Average active calories were 477, Active workout calories were 248, Average active minutes 78 and average stand hours was 11. Mood has been ok however had a rest day on Friday because i was having sharp pains in my stomach where my appendix was removed. Identified that i needed to take it easy and it seems to have gotten better now.

Week 1 done and dusted. Still recovering from my Appendix being removed. Weights for the week have been with either less than 5kg dumbbells or with just a bar. Leg day still ended with some nasty DOMS that didn't go away for several days and left me walking funny. Cardio was either incline walking or going outside for a walk. Enjoyed this as I have been listening to the Em Rusciano Radio Show with Harley Breen podcast. Average day was 104 grams Carbs, 47 grams Fat and 154 grams Protein. Average active calories according to my Apple Watch were 488. Average workout calories was 224. Average active minutes per day was 80 and average stand hours was 14. Mood has been up and down all week. Struggling a little being office bound at work and being on day shift constantly. Also working opposite shifts to my Husband. Hoping to get clearance to go back to normal duties at work and in the gym in 3 weeks time.
