Reason to start The Challenge

My partner is doing the Max challenge and suggested I join with him. I had a look at the results from previous contestants and that inspired me. I am only a couple years off being 50 and would like to develop the best body I have ever had.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

I loved the structure of the program. The weights program continually pushed me, the food plan was easy to follow and full of variety and favour. Changing every 4 weeks was great.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Breaking old habits. I had to learn portion control with meal sizes and to not snack in the afternoons.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

The challenge has reset my day to day living. It is now a habit to wake at 4am and train in the morning. Shopping consists of a healthy clean trolley of food. When we cook dinner we also cook lunch for the next day. The challenge has created new healthy habits

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Definitely do it. Don't second guess the program, just follow and trust. Don't allow yourself to make excuses and exceptions during the 12 weeks. Follow the food program by weighing and measuring. Finally, I did it with my partner who was as equally as committed so we pushed each other and kept each other honest. If you haven't got that, use the support options available with the program.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I have seen great results and plan to continue to strive to gain more strength. The challenge has taught me I was making excuses for myself but watching other people my age and older lifting heavier I realised i had created my own mental barriers and that i was in fact capable as well.
