Reason to start The Challenge

I completed the January and May challenge this year and made some progress but haven't reached my happy place after having my second son who is now 10 months old. I've learnt alot about how to fit this program into family life but after seeing my Husband come second in the May Max's challenge I'm inspired to lose all my excuses and really follow the plan strictly to find a new me come December.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The best thing about the challenge was the results. I'm fitter, stronger, and leaner that I have been in many many years and I feel fantastic. At 38 and after having my second child a year ago, I'm impressed with how well my body has responded. I loved the easy to follow flexible meal plans and the flexible training programs because they included so many different exercises, many of which could be done at home.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

I think this is the 7th challange I have attempted and the 5th challenge I have completed. I completed all three challenges this year so I'm no stranger to the process. This challenge was particularly difficult because I struggled to get sufficient sleep, having a teething baby. I am still breastfeeding, which is not only an additional stress on the body, but it also meant that I couldn't benefit from many of the recommended supplements or delicious bars etc. I'm studying a bachelor of law and hit exams at week 8 which meant I got even less sleep due to exam preparation. I have a busy life with a 1 year old and a 4 year old and some days I was just exhausted but I refused to quit and I'm so happy with my results.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

Even though I have attempted many challenges before, my mindset about food has really improved. At the end of the challenge I didn't rush out to eat my weight in cake and wine. I know I will continue to follow the plans to maintain my results and include some treats in moderation. There is so much variety in the plans that I can eat my favourite foods (oats) everyday within the calorie allowances and without feeling like I'm missing out on anything.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

If you are looking for a long term sustainable program which achieves great results and creates life long positive change then this is your family - come and join us.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

If you are a mum, if you are still breastfeeding, if you are not sleeping don't write this program off. It won't be easy but I promise it will be worth it. Making some time for yourself is just as important for you as it is for your family. Even on my most exhausting day, showing up at the gym and prepping my food gave me purpose and a sense of achievement. It feels amazing to feel good in my skin again.
