Reason to start The Challenge

2016 is my year. I keep saying every year that I will be lean and muscly. I get to a certain point then use holidays, sickness as an excuse to either stop or go backwards. Not this year I will prove it to myself that it can and will be done by me!!
Instagram: kazs_year_2016

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The community aspect. The forum was awesome, the coaches and ambassadors were quick any questions that arose and were very knowledgeable. I especially loved journaling, it helped me stay accountable by making me strive harder so I had something great to report, it really kept me going! Reading everyone else's journal to was fantastic as I could relate to a lot of the other challengers and their ups and downs. Mentally it has phenomenonly changed me for the better!

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The first couple of weeks I had severe sugar withdrawals that was super tough to get through but I hung on in there. Supermarket shopping in the first two weeks was a killer as I was in a habit of buying one chocolate everyday to eat on the way home. I beat it!!!

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

Oh my gosh so many! First and foremost is my mindset and behaviors. I would be one to say 'I'm missing out' to my family when they decided to eat off my plan food. I would go into poor me and either shut myself off to the family while they ate or just indulge. I can now sit there and eat my body fuel because I choose what I eat to make me not only healthy but to fuel my workouts each and everyday! Social events and away from home does not bother me as I have food prepping down pat. I would usually whinge and complain.

I no longer sleep in, I am up at6am ready to start the day and I sleep beautifully now :)
I'm so much more energized and my family love that their mum isn't a cranky pants :)

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Do it!! So many great habits are formed in the 12 weeks if you are determined to change. The coaches and ambassadors are there with you every step of the way and no question is too silly for them to answer. It really will change your life! I have done 3 challenges and each and every one, I've learnt something new!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

I would just like to say that I'm so glad I entered this time being my third time around. I've really learnt a lot about myself and why I was so stuck in a repetitive cycle. This is the best challenge by far for me, mental growth wise I'm amazed :)
Thankyou to all of the challenge team your expertise and knowledge is very invaluable and you don't know what it has done for me and my family.

Last heavy chest workout done of this phase and tomorrow will be the last back shoulder workout :) I'm really looking forward to going back to lower reps and heavy, heavy workouts but I will have a deload week next week to let my muscles recoup a little. No cardio for me either next week! Keeping my mind on the game is so easy and it's the weekend!!! I still can't get over me not faulting once on any of the weekends during this challenge as that was my major downfall!!! Winning!!! I tried a pair of shorts on that I was hoping to take to qld with me and they fell off hahaha it was hilarious!! Looks like I'll be doing some shopping up there :) My body is just buzzing with happiness and excitement, I really haven't been this happy in ages! And so positive, totally different person :) Loving everyone's pics :) you've all done an amazing job and should be mega proud, I know I am!

Ohwell we deal with what we have don't we :) if my pics are a little bloated, they're a little bloated not much I can do but smile and know that a few days later it'll be all gone :) for my holiday! Still eating well that's all that counts :) will train chest tonight, legs tomorrow and shoulders/back on Saturday. 5 days for me to go :) excited!!

Back and shoulders blitzed!!! I had the best sleep last night which helped a lot! I was able to get a few more chin-ups than last week :) yay!!! I think once this challenge is over I will have to put pen to paper and keep journaling as I have enjoyed doing it daily it has also helped keep me on track. Can't believe I only have 6 days to go!! It's coming around sooooo fast!!! My nutrition is as tight as tight!!! I am way too determined to budge! I've done 11.5 weeks of staying on track, I have not missed a workout so there is no way anything will stand in my way of completion!!! It's my year :D

Trained legs today instead of tomorrow as I want to do my last leg day on Friday :) I groaned a lot today haha so I'm not sure what the neighbors thought lol I am training them so much harder these days as I'm craving more results. I can't wait to see what they look like in another year after consistent training. Today means I have a week to go, I'm excited as after this I will have a deload week then will be hitting a new phase its planned out already! I've never been this organised, although I'm usually fighting some sickness at this stage of the challenge from overdoing it! Not this time. I've followed the plan and meals and I feel the greatest I ever have :) I will be having an early night tonight as I my monthlies arent too far away. This is another awesome thing that has happened, I have kept my periods!! Usually by the end of challenges I have gone in way to hard with cardio and they disappear, mucking my hormones up. Not this time :) yay!!!! Small wins = healthy body/mind!!!

Ooooh today's chest bis tris and abs was killer everything burnt found a new chest vein though haha. Feel slightly depleted today but I'm also due for my monthlies so it's probably just that. I swear all that was on the tv last night were ads of arnotts Monte Carlo biscuits lol well they're the only thing I kept seeing anyway. They should be banned :) I'm excited with only a week to go in this challenge that 1. I have not got sick at all and 2. I have had no injuries whatsoever!!! That in itself makes me happy it means I have not overdone it at all and I can plan for the next stage of my fitness journey :) yay!!!!! So many positives this time round!

Cardio done :) decided to do some boxing today for something different! I have to be careful what I do with it though as it aggravates my neck and causes migraines. I ended up using my mate Bob as no one was willing to hold the pads for me today, bunch of lalas hahaha :) Bob won again lol I am feeling awesome. Even though the countdown is on for pictures my nutrition will stay super tight as we are going on holidays a week after the challenge. Sunshine and beach are in my sights very excited!!!! I still can't get over how focused I am I've never been this determined to finish something as I am of this challenge. Loving it :)

Totally wrapped today I was looking through old pics and found one that I took before the previous Maxines challenge I did so I thought I'd try the same thing on to see how far I've come. Can't believe at just how much I've changed its really spurred me on to really finish this challenge super strong :) Can't believe I thought I looked great back then :/ but that being said I am not going back there so win for me!!!! so much stronger, happier and fitter than ever! Trained shoulders and back today, this is my favourite day so it always goes well :) Food prepped for the weekend I'm all good to go yay!!!! 11 sleeps for me to go :)

My mind is so strong I can't believe it! I went into a shop to look at some midriff crop tops and I chose one I wanted to try on. The lady said to me 'you are best to take the next size up in case because they are a small fit'. I laughed and said 'no this will be fine' she said 'are you sure' I said 'yes I'm fine'.Tried it on and it was perfect!!!! She came back and said 'would you like the bigger size' to which I replied 'no this is perfect, fits great' she walked off muttering something under her breath hahaha Stupid, unintelligent woman!!! Win to me! Do not mess with Kaz when she is in ultra-focused on being awesome mode! What a change in me that is, normally I would've grabbed it off her anyway and overthought things all day. Love my new way of thinking :) Feeling a tad bloated today probably from taking mersyndol for my migraine last night it always plays havoc with me for the next few days. Trained upper body will do sprints later :) Hope you're all having a great Thursday :) nearly the weekend!!! 12 days for me to go!

No journal yesterday as I had a mass migraine :( I did do my weights and ate on plan up until around 3pm where I just had to go to bed and sleep for the rest of the day. Well I actually slept til 7am this morning. Much needed after the night before not getting a lot. Arms again today and hiit tonight as I missed my cardio yesterday :) have a great day ladies x

Trained this morning was a great focused training session. Food has been on plan as usual but my mind started wandering to things I am choosing not to eat like starburst lollies and spaghetti bolognaise mind you both of these things I don't even eat Hahahaha so I do not know where that has come from. I am in the middle of my cycle so I usually crave weird things around that time. I will not cave in though it's so not worth it to me when I have only got 14 days to go. I have come too far and you will be seeing me run through the finish line with an absolute smile on my face. I have killed this challenge so far and I intend on annihilating the rest :) Bring the next two weeks on :) P.S pic is of my new slippers for Mother's Day :)

Woke up with tonnes of energy and was super productive this morning. Chest bis tris abs done! It was super tough today everything burnt like hell lol but I got through! A couple more veins popped out which is exciting as I've never seen those ever :) my son thinks it's hilarious when I get excited about seeing new progress haha Feel a tad hungry today but I'm blaming it on the weather it's rainy and cold today and I just want to snuggle in my doona and eat soup :) but nope I prepped my food so haven't gone off plan :) I might do an ab workout this afternoon if I'm still feeling energetic :)

Phew!! Loved it! Meals are planned ready to go as I'm up at my mums this arvo thenDavid Strassman tonight. Legs done this morning upped my weights again, feel a slight twinge in my back but nothing enough to slow me down. I went and had a massage made no difference so I think I need to see my Chiro for an adjustment. Food still spot on and am chilling this arvo. Will have an Epsom bath later. My son has a bye with footy today so our household is very laid back this arvo :) Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow to all of the mummies :)

I'm absolutely buzzing today :) and so productive! So much energy it's awesome! Smashed my workout and again increased weights, I can't believe how much this phase is agreeing with me. I was deep down a bit scared to start this new phase from previous experiences of crashing and burning but I've learnt to go by the plan and trust the process. It's working!!!! :) I was even able to smash out 3x8 chin ups then 1 set of 5. It's the most I've done in my life by myself :) It's such a beautiful day here today I might even go for a walk in the sunshine especially since our area has been predicted to get around 100ml of rain this weekend. I filmed my chin-ups for Instagram then right after that dropped my phone, screen is smashed. Oops!!! Camera is ok though phew, not sure how I'd go without being able to take selfies Hahahaha

Yew!!!! What a workout!!! Chest Bis Tris and Abs! I was able to up all of my weights today can't believe I can lift 42.5kg on bench press for 4 x 12 reps, I thought it would've gone backwards by now!!! (Yeah I added it to the workout haha). Feel great today after a huge sleep last night, I was absolutely exhausted yesterday after legs! I missed my cardio yesterday so will do it today as I have much more energy :) I know I say it almost every post but food is still on point, I still have not swayed and do not intend to!!! I went and got a few more supplies while I was in Melbourne on Tuesday which will see me right til the end! One less thing to think about, prep is key right ;) well it's certainly working for me!!!! Took a progress pic of my back today, the fat is slowly being sucked away if only I had a vacuum for my triceps haha :) Patience Kaz it will come!!!

I think I'm officially liking leg day now!!! I'm seeing lots of changes which makes me want to train them more! I've never felt like that about leg day until this phase of training ever!!!! Once I get these abs and after the challenge finishes, I'm going to try sculpt them more and see what I can do with them it excites me to see changes and it's happening almost daily ;) Slept beautifully last night which was a welcome relief as I had a huge day yesterday :) Cardio tonight and more food prep this afternoon! I've been renamed the queen of containers in my house because if they're not in the fridge they're in the dishwasher hahaha they're everywhere! My husband is working away again so it's back to juggling again for me. I am in control though and now have whiteboard in the kitchen with times I have to drop kids off, pick kids up, work myself, appointments etc up until this challenge I did not do any of that and was a frazzled mess by the end of the day! Now, I'm organised, have plenty of energy and have more time to just chill when I need to. Makes me wonder how I survived before! Can you believe it's Wednesday already?!

I can't wait to see all of our pics at the end. Melbourne for me tomorrow I'm getting body fat tested again hopefully I'll be close to my goal of 10% cross your fingers for me! I was going to go for a brisk 5km walk today for my cardio but instead did Tabata haha I felt great this morning and thought why waste 50mins on a walk when I can smash it Tabata style in 32mins :) I picked lower body cardio exercises and abs do it doesn't interfere with upper body tomorrow. I'm so full of energy today, I'm bouncing off the walls :) I sat down to have a rest after I'd finished and spotted my legs starting to take shape in the mirror, so excited!!!!! I'm going to get a massage and soak in the bath today to reset for the next week :) oh and food prep this arvo before the footy starts!!! Happy Sunday lovelies x

Legs are done!!!! I can't believe how quick the body adapts! I was able to up my Wed weights all except for calves, they're killer!!! I sweated massively as I wore my weight vest for most of it, it was great!!!! My husband gave me the best compliment today he said 'I have never seen you so determined before, the fire in your eyes is amazing and you are changing so much' I love that man!!! I hardly see him because he works away a lot but when he's home he notices just how hard I'm working to get the body I dream about. Now it's time to be a footy mum for the arvo and use my six pack bag yay!! Have a great day awesome people :)

I had he best sleep last night and woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. Weights complete, I'll do cardio tonight, it felt great today burn burn burn :) Found a vein starting to creep up my arm to my bicep so that got me very excited as I've never seen that before, granted it was gone when the muscle pump left but it's a start :) haha Received my six pack bag today the boys bought me for Mother's Day, I'm excited to use it tomorrow at the footy. It's a back pack one which suits me better and it's red and black, best colours in the world haha. This week is flying, can't wait to see how I feel next week :) I seem to be leveling up each day! I didn't call myself kazs_year_2016 on Instagram for nothing :P

I had a day of appointments today so had to be well prepared! I sure was, I took everything I needed even packed the recover for my mini trip to the hairdresser :) I normally only take enough to get me through the hours I think I'll be away but this time I took extra cucumber and salad veg. Lucky I did as my appointment ran late which meant I had to shuffle my training to later in the night. I am very proud of me as I would normally have a meltdown that my routine got disrupted and everything would get thrown in the air and I would say I'll start fresh tomorrow! Nope not doing that anymore I am amazed at my reaction :) So a major win for me yay!!!!! Training was tough tonight as my muscles are still killing from Monday! I got through though I wasn't backing down for anything :) everyday counts!

Ooooooh yeah that leg workout was awesome!!!!! Definitely going to feel that tomorrow lol calf dropsets made me feel like a weakling by the end it was hilarious! My legs were that shaky I couldn't even flex properly for a selfie oh my gosh haha I will be doing my cardio tonight after work :) I am currently soaking in the bath trying to get some mag into me, I've also upped my dose after workouts as I think the accumulation of the intensity of this last month may just knock little old Kaz around a bit. Number one priority is food (as it has been right through) if I stuff up now my workouts will suffer!!! I definitely don't want that to happen, I'm enjoying this way too much. My job this afternoon is to sit down and organise training sessions for once this challenge finishes and for my holiday! There is no way in hell I am undoing all my progress so far, anyway I have to level up yet and I can't do that by going backwards :)

I had to babysit this morning so switched my day around from normally training in the morning to doing it in the afternoon. I planned my day yesterday to first babysit, meal prep then do my cardio. Check, check and check :) I took all of my meals to cover me while I babysat and the girls were quite intrigued with my lunchbox hahaha I meal prepped all of my meat to cover me until Thursday then I will just add my salad or veg :) I am all set to knock out this next 4 weeks! I've never been so determined in my life! Cardio this afternoon consisted of 5 stair runs 10 jump squats 4 stair runs 8 jump squats All the way down to 1 stair run 2 jump squats. I had a 2min rest then did 5 bitumen hill sprints 10 jump lunges All the way down to 1hill sprint and 2lunges. 2min rest then did 5 grass hill sprints 10 burpees All the way down to 1 sprint 2 burpees! Definitely got the heart rate up. I wasn't sure at one point that I would get through but I got stubborn and pushed through :) so stoked I made it!!!! My son was there watching me so maybe it was the fact I couldn't let him see me quit that got me through not sure :) The high five at the end was truly cherished! I was absolutely chuffed to see my progress photo reposted on social media today, that really made my day. Thankyou Maxines and thankyou to all of the girls that have been supporting and inspire me daily, you all know who you are mwah xx

Makes me appreciate what he does for me even more. I actually have him home for the long weekend yay!!!!!! Shoulders and triceps today, I can't get over how strong I feel I do realize this will all change with different rep ranges etc starting next week but for the moment I'm enjoying feeling tough lol I think a massage and a nanna nap is in order for me today well in between meals anyway :) I still have not missed one meal! Super duper proud of me! My Pure protein arrived today can't wait to try it :) I'm all stocked up again ready to hammer the next 4 weeks!!!! A bit tired today but I put that down to TTOM early night for me. It was funny this afternoon my kids both at the same time said 'mum I think you need new pants they look daggy and too big for you' and laughed at me. I laughed and said really lol mind you they're comfy as hahaha So I went shopping tried the small on and they were too big I thought to myself that I'd have to stick to that size because there is no way I'd fit into xs. My son said just try them on and they fit perfectly not even spray painted on haha I am so wrapped!!! It's funny how we see ourselves! I do not think there is one muscle that I did not hit yesterday with my cardio they are mega sore! Love it :)

A few more days and I will take 8 week pic I just want to wait til the fluid and bloating subsides. I weighed myself for interest sake just to see how much I actually put on around this time and it was bang on 3kg! Makes you wonder where it all comes from! It will be all gone in a few days and I can't wait to see what's under this bloat lol Can't believe there's only just over 30 days to go, this challenge has flown! It must be because I'm enjoying it so much this time round! Bring it home guys :)

Sprints are done! 8/12 for 20minutes @15km. Legs are really done now hahaha here's hoping the sprints help with recovery lol I have booked accommodation for the gala and my sister is going to hold me up while I try to walk in heels haha yep I'm useless at it. Flat out getting me into a dress to be honest but I do wear them every now and again. Best I go shopping. Food still on track, I do feel flabby and feel like I'm retaining heaps of fluid due to monthlies coming soon. Touch wood, I haven't had a migraine yet so cross fingers I skip that this month! I Made the stupid decision to put my before pic bikini on to see what I looked like in it hoping for some change how dumb am I doing that the day I'm due Ergh!!! I look like a pregnant lady with great chest muscles haha I won't make that mistake again! So bloated! Hopefully it doesn't mess with my brain too much :/

Seriously who needs cardio when you train legs hard! Sweat was pouring out of me today, heart rate was elevated heaps! I actually enjoyed my leg workout today! Killed at the time but I really felt great! I added some 6 block step ups while wearing 5kg vest and holding a 12kg KB in each hand, yep that did it haha I also jumped on the leg press and did some one legged leg press negatives ooooh yeah they're gonna feel it tomorrow!!!! Time for an Epsom bath and a rest!

Killed today's workout!!! Chest and tris. I thought I would give flat bench a go as I haven't done that in what feels like forever. I pushed out 5x5 @50kg, all of my other weights are up to! Feeling so strong when this is usually my 'weak' week. Cycle is due to start tomorrow Ergh yeah I know right before check in! I swear my body knows lol so I think I will let my body get over its bloat etc and take pic either end of this week or early next week. I feel like I've changed more posteriorly than anteriorly though but ohwell we will see what comes out :) Think I will do a hiit sesh tonight as I never know from month to month how my body will react with the start of cycle. Usually I get a migraine right before it starts so if I do a hiit at least I'm one up on workouts if it does. It sucks but I work with what I have and I won't let it take over!

Omg I'm so tired today. Do I even party anymore lol for those that don't know, I went to my uncles 50th last night. I carved up the dancefloor, nutbushed it, did the bus stop so yes my cardio was done and dusted in a fun way. Oh and yes I wore a dress (insert eye roll) lol Did a killer abs sesh today and am not sure if I'll be laughing, sneezing or coughing without some ab DOMS tomorrow but all good haha!! Food on point, I love Sundays for food prep day! I'm still only prepping the meat and it's working out awesome for me :) week8 starts tomorrow time to sleep and grow me some more 'man' muscles Hahahaha

This is for yesterday as my day was that loaded I didn't even get to spend much time on social media :) I did Steve's hiit 500 workout for something different got a great muscle pump after that it was great! I spent the day at two events, my sons junior footy game then my uncles 50th birthday party. I'm proud to say I stayed on track with my nutrition for both!!! I'm finding footy very easy to get through now. My uncles party was catered so they were bringing around nibbles all night. The only annoying thing I had to put up with were my relatives on my back about not eating the food and the 'who brings their own food to a party' etc etc (insert eye roll). It was very irritating but again they don't understand the importance of this challenge and my goals. My grandma was shown a picture of my back muscles her immediate response was 'you're starting to get manly muscles, don't you think you should back off the training a bit' to which my response was 'nope I like my muscles and there will be more where they came from'. I understand bodybuilding is not everyone's cup of tea as but it's what I want to do and they should respect that. I guess this is where I begin to start standing out from everyone in my family!!! Go me :)

So so so happy today I hit 11.5% body fat! My goal was to hit 11.9% by today but smashed that one yay!!!!! Next goal I have to hit is 10% by the 3rd of May! Yep I have set the bar higher and I'll be damned if I'm going backwards at this point! Meal prep served me well again I was prepared for my up and back Melbourne trip and did not fault once! I have also meal prepped for tomorrow's junior footy game and my uncles 50th birthday party! You will not sway me! Hope you all had a great day :)

I did my hiit cardio this morning as I did weights yesterday felt good I think I will attack some sprints later though as I'm in Melbourne all day tomorrow and I'm not sure I will get back in time to do a workout! Hopefully will be ok! I've also meal prepped for next couple of days as I have a few events on. I'm getting body fat tested again tomorrow so hopefully it's dropped at least another % Salmon and salad for lunch today was delicious :) I have been reading a few journals today and there are so many amazing people on here this time round!! I am really enjoying this challenge and using it to my full advantage. Can't rate it and the ambassadors highly enough :)

Trained shoulders and triceps with a major headache today it was tough but I got through. Added hanging tricep dips to my routine I did 3 sets to max and got 12,8,6 I was really surprised especially since it was after smashing shoulders. Food still going strong. I've found meal prepping just the meat to be my saviour. I felt sometimes that when Ive already prepared salad or veg that I felt like the opposite so I just make my salad or steam my veg fresh and just heat up the meat. So much easier for me :) So hope this headache does not progress! I was hoping to do some hiit tonight but if it happens that I don't well I did extra last night so all good :) Listening to my body! Oh and legs aren't sore so I dare say tomorrow they will hit when I want to do my sprints lol

Felt really good with doing legs today so I added some 6 block step ups with 5kg weight vest and 2x10kg Kettlebells 4x8 I supersetted with glute lifts! Nutrition still on point, just feels like I'm on auto pilot now it feels great and makes me wonder why I felt it was so hard to do before the challenge. I know it's not on the plan for tonight but I felt like doing half an hour on the stepper doing intervals so I did. Feel great, I think my legs might say otherwise tomorrow though Hahahaha

New top from sculptured threads with an awesome motivational quote. It wins today :)

Halfway mark smashed yay!!!!! This is so not me!! I took prepared food to my sons skydive today and my husband said hey we should go out for lunch, I was hesitant but agreed and ordered fish and salad!!!! I don't ever do that, I always justify eating whatever I want by saying to myself it's a once off with my family and I deserve it! Yes, I do deserve to eat out with my family but my body deserves real food that nourishes and gets me closer to my goal!!! Again so proud of me :) my husband was even shocked that I didn't steal a crispy chip off his plate that he ate with his humongous oversized parmigiana lol Bonus is I have lunch prepped for tomorrow now haha Cardio was half hour on stepper and some abs. Oh and I may have signed up to skydive at the Gold Coast in June yay!!!! Excited!

Food prep did it for me today, yes!!!!!! I did not go for one thing off plan. Did get a few weird looks from people while they ate their crappy sausage or hamburger in bread and drank soft drink though lol All good, their priority isn't to lean down but mine is so no crappy snags for Kaz! Sprints were completed before I left which I'm glad I did because I really don't feel like doing them now :) Best thing my son kicked 3 goals for his junior footy team and we won 29-132 wooooh. Great day all round!!! Bring on half way mark tomorrow :)

Another great day smashed :) I am starting to feel a bit of tightness in my neck which is never a good thing as usually this results in a migraine. Hopefully it will stay away :) I have meal prepped for next two days as my weekend is going to be away from home and I do not want the temptation of off plan foods! I plan to do hiit cardio first thing in morning so it's complete and I do not have to think of it for the rest of the day :) I'm actually really excited to hit the half way mark!!! I am loving Max's glutamine, I am feeling the difference with recovery a lot. I didn't pull up too bad after legs this week as I usually feel so fatigued I can't lift my head. Not this week! Yay!!!!

Woke with heaps of energy this morning so did hiit cardio after breaky and the nutbush city limits plank. If you haven't seen it before jump on my insta page kazs_year_2016 so much fun and definitely burns haha Stll cruising along with the nutrition it's almost become second nature I think although I did have a moment when I could've smashed down a block of chocolate lol but realized I hadn't had my magnesium earlier in the day. That stuff truly makes a difference. Can't believe we a half way through another week it's going so fast! It makes you feel awesome knowing that you didn't waste any of it with bad nutrition! So proud of me. It's a massive change in my mindset this round, I'm so much more positive, something has really clicked in and I'm loving it!!!!!

Great day today trained legs. Very tired now :) This will be a challenging weekend coming up so I'm preparing in my head early. My youngest plays junior footy and we are playing an hour and a half away so will have to train early and prepare my meals to take with me so I'm not tempted by footy food. Sunday we are about 1-2 hours away to watch my eldest son sky dive so again food prep is priority. I really need to invest in a six pack bag. Feeling good :)

Still recovering from migraine so having a bit of a feel sorry for Kaz day but managed to do weights. So frustrated as I feel I get going awesome with my training then bam another migraine hits and I take two steps back!!! I won't let it defeat me though just voicing my frustrations. I think I might get a massage while my son goes to footy training today as my traps are super tight and would be contributing to my sore neck and head. Getting my body fat tested tomorrow hopefully it's still going down. Hiit cardio soon yay!!! Hoping the extra blood flow clears the head more :)

Yes!!!!! Long weekend smashed!! I did it! I can't believe it! The first Easter Monday ever that I've woken not feeling like I have a food hangover :) I shuffled the training program around a little as I want to do 2 leg workouts a week. So today was leg day :) Today is my first heavy session after having a deload week last week, needless to say they were shaky once I finished. Loved it!!! I use my 10kg weight vest a lot especially training legs as I have a lower back injury so instead of loading the bar up I add more weight to the vest as its more evenly distributed. I still use the bar though I just have to be careful on the load. I am excited for this next phase :)

Tough day being surrounded by my number one vice but I've done well this weekend. Total change in last year that's for sure!!! I was planning on having Pana chocolate but thought it would be safer if I stayed completely away from it. I do not want to revert to old ways. I have been asked numerous times today if I want some chocolate with the added 'it's Easter you have to have a bit'. So empowering when I return with a 'my choice is not to have chocolate today thankyou'. It's like they all feel guilty eating it near me. I won't lie on the inside I am secretly devouring all of their eggs haha but I'm tough on the outside lol it's all that matters! I can't wait to start the new phase of training tomorrow!!! Bring the next 4 weeks on :)

Bring on tomorrow so I can be empowered again :)

I bought myself a new pair of tights to reward myself for my 16km run I completed. Yes I'm still buzzing haha My leg soreness has pretty much disappeared and I feel really good today. It's surprising because it's also TTOM, I normally suffer big time. Feeling really good about the upcoming Easter break where as I normally freak out as there is so much temptation. I am allowing myself to have one gluten, milk, soy, preservative and colour free hot cross bun and some Pana chocolate on Good Friday and that is it. I've told my family to not buy me any Easter eggs as I want to hit the next phase of training with all guns blazing. My head is in a really great space and I'm really enjoying this challenge more this time round.

Mentally challenging week for me this week. I am on a deload week from my training for Run for the kids. I have been hammering the runs and weights with huge intensity so need to back off this week so I can refocus :) I find deload weeks very tough but it is definitely needed otherwise the next 9 weeks will see me burn out at some stage. It's a bummer that my run was scheduled three weeks into this challenge but it had to be done. I am still buzzing that I did it :) Photo is pre run.

OMG I did it!!!! I ran all of the 16km for run for the kids!!! I'm so proud of myself because up until this year I've only ever managed a max of 10km and Ive only ever done 5km fun runs. Such a major achievement for me and I did it in 1:45. I thought I would definitely have cracked the 2 hour mark for sure!!! My body from the waist down doesn't agree with me though and the 3 hour drive home was a little tricky haha Soaking in Epsom salts and early to bed tonight should help a little. Still buzzing yay!!!!!!

Drove 3 hours to Melbourne today on my own was a pretty hairy trip as it was very stormy this morning. No training for me but had some muscle testing done showed up a few interesting things that I'll now be able to tweak with my diet and Supps. I have been told to rest until my run and that is what I'll do. As much as it kills me to not train I know it's right for my body at this moment. So more sleep for me I will have a deload week next week then start a new program after the Easter weekend.

Good day today eating. My tummy has been cramping all day tried to deadlift got two sets out felt like my insides were being stabbed. I tried to do my sprints this arvo only got 3km worth of 8/12 done. Getting a cold sore on my lip. I think with all of my running training etc my immunity has taken a nose dive. So my plan is to keep the water and nutrition intake spot on but I'm also going to chill for next two days before the run to give my body a chance for a little recovery before hammering it again. My program will change from Monday as I won't be doing long distance runs but will change to hiit cardio which I love :) Getting skinfolds taken tomorrow so that will be interesting :) early night for me I have a 3hr drive tomorrow. Keep smashing it :)

Today = unscheduled rest day I had planned to do my leg workout after work today. I came home at 7 and got roped into helping a family member with computer work that didn't end up being resolved. Then my son was complaining of knee and hamstring pain so gave him a massage. I then needed to pick my son up from work at 10pm. Needless to say the workout did not occur. Sounds like a bunch of excuses but I'm devastated that I didn't get there. This means a double up tomorrow which is not the best plan as I suffer from chronic fatigue. Another bump in the road but again it won't sway my mindset :)

Been an interesting afternoon on Instagram, was sent a nude pic of a male and it's not the first that's been sent lately. This was my last long run with sprints. 11km run in total with 8km of it being 8/12 sprints @ 15kmph. Started to get stomach cramps at the 3km mark but persevered til the end. Week 2 - Visualize Dream Believe Leg day today. Upped my weights a fair bit and used the weight vest, feeling great after an enormous sleep last night. I have always had a thing about my legs, to me they're chunky and it's felt like whatever I do makes them bigger! I was excited when my son said hey mum you have muscles in your calves showing. This has not happened ever! I have always had fat calves!!! So even if it's only on the lift that you can see them I'm happy because it means in a few weeks time they will be visible when I walk. I want my thoughts of my legs to change from hating them to thinking they're absolutely awesome by the end of the 12 weeks. Cheers to Maxines and Magnesium :)
