Reason to start The Challenge

I completed the challenge in 2014, but unfortunately I had some previous injuries to contend with. Since then I have had one excuse after another, as to why I cannot achieve my goals. It is time to make myself accountable, and what better place to start is back with this wonderfully supportive family.. :)

What did you like most about The Challenge?

I liked how simple the program is. I liked the support of both challengers and the ambassadors. I like the fact that it really works. But most of all I loved how strong and confident it made me feel.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Helping other people that are not into fitness understand what benefits can be had. How fulfilling this journey was for me. How everybody has choices in there own health and well being (WE DO have choices about how we feel and can move around as we get older).

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

I have learnt so much about my own body, the strength and will power I have and also how good I can feel. AND
Confidence.... Confidence.....Confidence

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

You don't need to think about it, just sign up and find out where the journey will take YOU. Everybody has a different journey and every time you do this challenge it will be for different reasons.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

This is a challenge with yourself, not the other challengers. Every change is a benefit and a learning curve, and there is no better place to learn and be supported than in the Maxine's Challenge. I know I will be back to see where my next journey will take me.... THANK YOU EVERYBODY

    I had my weigh in and 12 week photo shoot today. Waiting for pictures, so I can upload my final photo's. This is a picture of me playing around in the office at work.

    It's the final week, where we all get to show all of our hard work. There is no use in asking have I done enough, as this is not over just because this challenge finishes, this is a life journey to never let go of ! Thank you everybody, for the motivation from other similar minded people......

    WOW I'n not sure how I actually feel. I have gained 1kg this week (66.9), so it is highly unlikely that I will achieve my goal of 65kg, but I do not seem to be carrying any extra body fat.... This stuff plays with your mind.... I am not looking forward to the finish, because I don't want to go back to the old me....

    Week 8 check in complete. We are on the home straight. I can not believe the roller coaster of emotions that I feel from day to day.

    We are a week 8 already. I am feeling very low this week... Some new injuries and I think I pushed too hard last week and exhausted myself. I keep telling myself that I am doing a great job, but I feel like I have dropped the ball and that is why I did not lose any weight this week.... The Power of the mind is incredible... I need to love myself more and be greatfull for all of the things my body can do, and has done.... Keep on smiling :)

    This is my gym at home. I also have a regular gym membership (mainly for motivation), but this is where my family and myself train when we can't make it to gym. NO EXCUSES

    Over the half way point now. Lost 1.5 kg this week. People are really starting to take notice.... Only 1.8 kg from my goal weight now...Maybe I will have to look at changing my goal.... Very tired this week, maybe need to back it down a bit... Still loving the foods (I really do love any food! ha ha ha)

    Week 6 !!!! No weight loss this week, but on the positive side "No weight gained" :) Still really enjoying the challenge. Strained my abs yesterday, so training was a little harder today, even with lighter weights.... It will be all good, just keep the diet under control. Keep on smiling

    Isn't it funny what people think? Today I was approached by person at gym, whom I have known for a few years. He asked me about my weight loss and proceeded to tell me that weight loss comes easily to me. Why is it that people do not see how you live your life outside of gym hours, but assume that some people just naturally loose weight more easily... They do not see the consistent healthy eating and effort......

    Interesting study with my 14y.o son.... He is very addicted to sugar and junk food, due to having older siblings who buy him and show him things that he wouldn't have know anything about. Anyway I challenged him to 4 weeks of only eating clean.... NO EXERCISE..... and guess what, he is very proud of the 7kg he lost.... This is one of life's lesson's he needed to accomplish, so he can understand what effect junk food and drinks have on your body! I am extremely proud of his efforts...

    Phase 1 is finished. Great weight loss so far (7kg). I came down with my first bout of Hayfever on Saturday (Gees I feel sorry for people who get this all of the time)..... Struggling with cardio because I cant breath.... NEVER GIVE UP

    Week 3 down and getting ready for my week 4 check-in. Lost 800g this week and finally made it into the 60's (69.9 but it is still in the 60's). Starting to see abs and hip bones again..... :)

    I hit the wall yesterday! Exhausted and hungry, but I stuck to my program. Feeling a little better today. Bring on the energy boost :)

    It's week two already. Week one felt like a very calm week, I missed one workout, but eating was good. Always remove for improvement. Lost 3kg, so very happy with my efforts. :)

    Second day of my second challenge, and I cant believe how much I really enjoy the food.... Why did I stop eating it ? Sometimes we need to be reminded about good food and exercise and how it makes you feel :)
