Reason to start The Challenge

Why I am doing the challenge - I am a mum of 2 beautiful teenage girls and a wife to my childhood sweetheart and I work full time. I have always put everyone needs in front of my own and I always use the excuse I do not have enough time in my day. I have let myself go in the last 5 years and I look at myself now and feel unhappy, unfit and unhealthy. I always tell my girls to take care of themselves and to feel worthy of who they are, yet I'm not practising what I am preaching. I'm nearing my mid forties and it scares me that I have let myself go, the ladies in my families history are overweight and all have health complications such as diabetes, arthritis and cancer. I don't want to follow in their footsteps - so time for some major lifestyle changes. I know this is going to be a tough challenge to change my mindset and bad habits however I also have my husband doing the Maxes Challenge - so we are all on the same healthy band wagon!! We can't wait to see our finish photo's in 12 weeks time :-)

What did you like most about The Challenge?

I loved how the challenged made me get out of bed every morning to start the day in a healthy way, it completely changed my mindset. It was easy to follow, I didn't have to think! And I loved Coach Steve's videos!

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Sometimes getting my 10,000 steps in was hard - I'm a mum, wife and I work full time, so juggling the many responsibilities in my life was difficult. I had to get up at 4.10am to ensure there was me time!!

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

A HUGE IMPACT - this challenge has completely changed me physically and mentally. I have seen and felt the changes in my body. I am fitter, lighter and more toned. I make healthy choices when grocery shopping and out and about. I enjoy cooking again and put time into researching healthy recipes. My family have completely benefited from this also, my two teenage girls have learnt what healthy balanced nutrition looks like, they ask questions and help me in the kitchen more. I love how this program has had such a positive impact not only with myself but my entire family. My daughters hug me and say wow mum you are as small as me, you've done so well...that puts a great big smile on my face every time!! I now believe in myself again - I have confidence and self worth back!!

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

I followed a friend who did the May challenge who had great results, she completely inspired me to sign up.
So I would say to someone who was thinking of doing this - look at my results, look at where I started and look at me only 3 months on. It took me 5 years to get out of shape, lose all motivation and become someone I didn't want to be. It only took me 3 months to feel 10,000 times better, this challenge educates you how to get on the right track to a healthy lifestyle change. If you follow the challenge it will change you inside and out - you will feel better within your own body physically and mentally. I found it simple to follow with the training and also the nutrition plan - so no thinking involved. It also doesn't matter where you live, if it be on a rural property or an inner city unit anyone can do this challenge - you don't need a gym or a trainer - you only need a few dumbbells and a bench.
Take the plunge you have absolutely nothing to lose except weight and an unhealthy mindset. Believe in yourself, you are stronger than you think - you can do it!!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

My husband started the challenge with me however he had to stop training half way through. He still followed the nutrition plan though and lost 8 kilos also. He feels so much healthier and happy as well!
This program has truely changed my life for the better and I just want to thank everyone who posts on the facebook group and motivates everyone along the way. I did my challenge completely at home, so no one to motivate me except myself, having the facebook group was awesome I felt apart of a gym without actually being at one!
I will continue this healthy lifestyle, I haven't felt so well for a long time - so Thank You, Thank You, Thank You xoxo
