Reason to start The Challenge

Hey everyone!
Iv joined the challenge because I am ready to focus on being healthy. After having my 2 boys I put on alot of weight due to poor diet and little exercise. Over the past 3 years iv lost some weight, joined a gym and am slowly improving my overall health. I feel like now is the time for me to get serious about my goals and fitness. Looking forward to the challenge and seeing some great results.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

I liked the fast results following the program. I could see instant results within the first 4 weeks on the scales and in the way my clothes fitted. This pushed me to keep going. I liked the training program as it helped me know what I should be doing at the gym so I didn’t feel lost. I enjoyed the home workout options along with gym options for the workouts. I enjoyed the app where I could find recipes, inspiration and support through out my challenge.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Missing out on social events was hard for me. If I was going to stick to the program it was better for me to avoid temptation going out to dinners and events ect. Easter was really hard because that’s a time I would normally eat a lot of chocolate and bad food. Plus the house has been full of chocolate! I did still enjoy Easter lunch with a approved meal that i cooked and took to our family lunch so I had a healthy option. I did have some chocolate so I ate really clean the rest of the day and I did a little extra exercise to help with the calories. Iv stored all the kids chocolates up in a cupboard away out of sight and tried to focus on the challenge and stay strong with food choices.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

I feel like completing the challenge has shown me I am strong enough to make healthy choices and it’s ok to say no to foods that are unhealthy. It’s shown me my willpower is stronger than I thought, it allowed me to stay focused and continually follow the nutrition program even through challenging times. Its changed my view on food In regards to carbs, macros and how the body process’s foods. It has thought me it’s ok to eat carbs again and still lose weight.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of doing the challenge to come on board. Its thought me so much about training and nutrition. Would highly recommend.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

My husband and I did the challenge together. It was so nice to have him along side me doing the challenge. We used to do weight training together before we got married and we loved it then.... but 9 years on and 2 kids life gets in the way. Throughout this challenge we actually made time for weight training together again. It made me realise how much I missed going to the gym together and lifting weights. I am going to keep weight training as past of our lives again and follow the mean plans. I now have the knowledge and tools to keep eating well, training hard and be able to maintain my optimal health. Thanks to all the Maxines team!
