Reason to start The Challenge

I have pretty much always been unhappy in the way my body has looked.
Since giving birth to my son 3 years ago, working split shifts and coming home from work late at nights, I tend to eat the wrong foods at the wrong times. As a result of this my weight is always unstable and I am often left with no energy and motivation to do anything.

I want to be happy within myself, become more active, have more energy and be positive about my appearance. Overall, I want to get the most out of this challenge as I can, both physically and mentally. 2016 is the year for me to achieve and accomplish my goals and the body I have always wanted.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

Wow! What can I say? I loved every bit of it.
I loved knowing that every day, everything was planned out for me. I knew what I was eating for the day and what exercises I was required to do. I never felt like I was ever missing out on anything and the Maxine products tasted so good that I was making everyone else envious of what I was having.
The website was easy to navigate and the forum was a fantastic source of information. No matter what time of the day, I could always log on and ask a question which would be quickly answered by one of the coaches or ambassadors.
I enjoyed coming home from work of a night and logging on and reading everyone’s journals. Throughout the challenge they inspired me. I was made to feel at ease knowing that others were also experiencing their good or bad days.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The hardest thing was to incorporate a new routine into my life. I had never done a challenge before and I had no idea what I was in for but I was prepared to take on anything. Working split shifts in a restaurant and surrounded by food all the time was hard at first. I had to adjust to a whole new way of eating and cutting out so much unhealthy food choices from my diet. I had to make sure my food was always prepped and ready to go so I was never tempted to make an unhealthy choice by being unprepared. The negative comments from some people about my food and portion sizes were upsetting at times but I never let them get the better of me as I had 100% faith in the program.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

This challenge has had a massive impact on my life and has changed it for the better. I love the new me and my new lifestyle. I am NEVER going back to the old me. Since completing the challenge, I no longer suffer with low self –esteem and have more confidence and a lot more energy. Not only has it changed my life, it has also had a wonderful impact on my son’s life. He now enjoys eating more fruit and vegetables as part of his daily meals and it is a great feeling knowing that I have created a new healthy lifestyle for the both of us.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Go for it! Give it a go and you will be amazed at the results in just 12 short weeks. You will thank yourself and it’s so rewarding to know you can do anything you put your mind to. Never in a million years did I ever think that after 12 weeks I would look like I do now! This challenge has changed my life not only physically, but also mentally and I hope that along the way I have inspired others and made them think that they too can do this.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

I will be forever thankful to the Maxine Challenge for opening my eyes to a whole new way of living and would like to thank all my family, friends, coaches and ambassadors for all their help and support throughout my journey in this challenge. I have achieved all my dreams and goals and am very proud of myself.
