I've always prioritised my health and fitness, however this year has been an absolute whirlwind! Commitments with family - I'm married and a mamma to three gorgeous kids, a travelling work role - I'm an Area Manager for L'Oreal, and also completing a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, and while I have been successful in maintaining these spheres of my life, I have failed at maintaining a ME routine. I decided to take up this challenge for a sense of accountability and support from a like-minded community for those moments I feel myself slipping off this journey. I look forward to see my evolved self in November!
I live, alike the rest of the challengers a busy life. As a mother of 3, having a demanding role for work which requires travel, and juggling "all the things' the need for accountability was definite for me. This challenge provided not only a means and a method to achieve a complete transformation but a supportive online community who in times when I felt self-sabotage was about to take over, held me back. I train in a home gym, my "swolemates' are my kids and therefore, what I liked in a nutshell was knowing I had a connectivity to a group of like-minded people with the same goal.
To be honest, the beginning. Getting started, overcoming my own objections and excuses, and committing to a solid routine which has now become a lifestyle. But again, this is where the support and inspiration of the coaches and other challengers made a huge impact on my transition.
I feel empowered! I have a new body, a new mentality and a revived zest for life! It's easy for people to notice physical changes, however this challenge has had a phenomenal impact of my mental and emotional well being. I feel confident, balanced, driven, and my perspective on life itself has a revived positivity. I could handle anything with this mindset.
Bite the bullet. Set a goal, commit and dedicate as much as you can to the process. If you lose your way, don't be too proud to ask for help. Trust the process and engage in the social platforms as they are a lifeline. Believe in yourself. And most importantly, don't compare yourself to others. This is your journey.
Thank you Maxine's Challenge for providing a means to transforming into a greater version of ME! Thank you to the coaches and crew for sharing your knowledge, expertise and guidance, and the challenger community for inspiring me daily. As Arnie said, 'I'll be back!". See you in January.
